Away Win for U16 vs Jura

On Saturday 26th October the Zug U16 team was again on the road. This time, playing away against a combined Jura/3Lacs side.

On a cold, damp morning with a heavy pitch and the fog rolling in, it wasn't a day for champagne rugby. Never the less, Zug were determined to continue to assert control at the top of the table with a controlled win against their opponents.

Zug opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a try from Ruairi Fitzpatrick. A silly yellow card for a tip tackle saw Toby Scott leave the field for 10 minutes to contemplate his mistake. Zug held off the opposition whilst a man down and managed to extend their lead after 29 minutes with a try from Charlie Bisang, converted by Fitzpatrick. A further try from Telmo Alvaro after 35 minutes saw Zug move into half time 17 point up.

The second half started with a try for Zug, again scored by Charlie Bisang. Play was stopped for an extended period of time due to an injury, and when play resumed Jura/3Lacs managed to break through the Zug defense to score their first try.

The next 12 minutes saw Zug take control of the game with great individual tries from Tristan Renaudie and then Mihajlo Radojevic.

The final minute was overshadowed by an incident on the half way line that saw Tigris Hjertonsson leave the field after being shown a red card for a high tackle.

The game finished Jura/3Lacs 5 - 36 Zug.

Zug remain top of the table after 5 games.
