What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Wow what a day it was.

We travelled to Mulhouse not knowing what to expect.

After having been to Geneva and seeing how important rugby is to that area, Mulhouse topped that again. There is a buzz in the air as soon as you arrive and the kids where immediately taken by it.

We played the tournament with with two teams of mixed age and quality. One was put in a stronger opponent group and the other with 2nd teams in the morning and then we played in one big group in the afternoon.

The blue team had a very hard group in the morning with 2 opponents ending up coming 2nd and 3rd in the tournament. Despite loosing those games the team played amazingly. They put together phases, supported each other, held their line and basically put in place everything we teach them each week. They deserved to score more tries but that's just the game.

The white team decided from the off, that the best line of defense is the attack. They narrowly lost the first game 13:12 followed by another loss and a win. Narrow margins but they never gave up and just picked them selfs up and went at it again.

In the afternoon both teams where put in the same group with 4 other teams. This was much more competitive for our kids and my word did they produce. After an exhilarating draw of 7:7 against each other both teams went on to only loosing one game and winning 2. The tackling improved through the day, and we are really proud of it, the offloading and player support was there, less offside positions, reduced ripping, just good rugby. The things that didn't go so well in the morning, they improved on throughout the day.

In the end, as always the kids made us incredibly proud. They are only 6-7 years old and what they manage to produce on a rugby pitch with 1 training a week is astonishing.

Thanks also to all the parents for the support, bringing food and cheering the kids on. It means the world to us and them.

See you next time in Würenlos on the 26.05 until then GOOOOOOO Zug!!!
