The Zug U10's hit the road last Sunday, September 24, 2023, and attended the Würenlos Tournament for another great day of rugby!

It was an extremely popular event. 70+ U10 Players attended with seven competing U10 teams. With so much rugby to be played, teams were divided into two pools, with our squad split into two teams, Zug A and Zug B, each competing in different pools.

Zug B might have had the results go against them, but many new players and first time under 10's got their first taste of tournament rugby, and it was awesome to see them in action. We saw massive development from all, probably best demonstrated by the huge step up in the second half of their first match against Zurich A, and again in their second match!

On the other side of the draw, Zug A was on fire, topping the pool with three convincing wins. Their stellar performance led them to the final against Zurich B, where they continued to shine. In a thrilling match, Zug A secured a dominant victory, triumphing with seven tries to Zurich B's four.

What truly stood out was the continuous improvement demonstrated by the squad as the day progressed. Their tackling, passing, stepping, and kicking game reached new heights, even as fatigue set in. The players showed grit, determination and enthusiasm throughout the tournament, and especially in the final, leaving nothing on the field.

It's safe to say that the coaches' WhatsApp group buzzed with praise for the players on Sunday afternoon, reflecting the collective pride felt by the coaching team.

As always, the performance at the Würenlos Tournament was not just about winning matches; it was about growth, development, and the joy of playing this beautiful game.
